Allocation of European Championship Show status for 2018

The rules for awarding European Championship show status are relatively simple.
There are 5 EC shows per year. The competition is split into three - broad tails,
sword tails and short tails. The club of the highest pointed member in each of
these categories is awarded EC status the following year. Then we consider the
applicants who have not had a European Championship show for the longest time to
allocate the last two shows. If two or more of these clubs have a conflict in
their dates then the club that applied first would be favoured.

The President is able to award additional shows and to be honest if there were
six applicants then I would be happy to ensure that none are disappointed. After
that then the normal process should be carried out.

For the 2018 show season I have considered as following:

All changes and amendments were requested and required before the beginning of
November for the 2017 European Championship Show results. The book is therefore
now closed and the results are factual and historic. The allocation for European
Show status are thus based upon these results.

2018 European Championship shows for TRIOS

The 2017 large tails winner with 335.67 points is Bodo Freimuth from the club
GPH. This club has not applied for a 2018 show so the allocation is passed to the
next breeder Marcin Wojtkowiak of MOL with 329.00 points. MOL have applied and
are thus awarded a European Championship show status for 2018. Volker Schmidt of
DGD shared the second place with 329.00 points but his club has not applied for a
European Championship Show for 2018.

The 2017 Sword Tail winner with 337.67 points is Michael Milde of OGG and they
are thus awarded a European Championship show status for 2018.

The 2017 Short tail winner with 328.33 points is Jan Budai of SZCH. This club
applied for a pairs show not a trio show and so the allocation for this Trio show
is passed to the next breeder Thomas Reiss with 327.33 points. His club DGD has
not applied for a European Championship show for 2018 and so the allocation is
passed to the next on the winners list. Anne Lyksgaad has 324.67 points and so
her club DSG is justly awarded the third European Championship show status.

There are two other applicants for a trio show and so they are clearly the two
clubs who have not enjoyed a European Championship show for the longest time. The
last two European Championship status shows are therefore awarded to AIAG and
AVF.

Congratulations to all clubs.

The 2018 schedule for Trio shows is therefore as following and they are all
European Championship Shows

9th June 2018 MOL (Poland)

23rd June 2018 AIAG (Italy)

28th July 2018 DSG (Denmark)

25th August 2018 OGG (Austria)

13th October 2018 AVF (France)

2018 European Championship shows for Pairs

The 2017 Large Tails winner with 512.33 points is Hermann Ernst Magoschitz of
DGD. This club has not applied for a show in 2018 and so the EC status is passed
to the next winner. Boguslaw Micinski of PTAT has 505.33 points but there has
been no application received so again the award is passed to the next winner
Krzysztof Kelman of KPR club who are thus awarded the European Championship show
status.

The 2017 Sword Tail winner is Michael Milde of OGG with 512 points. OGG would
like to host both a EC pairs show and a EC Trio show but the current rules do not
allow for this. They have already requested and have been awarded a Trio show EC
status and so this EC status is passed to the next winner. Jens Bergner of DGD
has 500.67 points but will not host a show in 2018. The next on the list with
497.67 points is Robert Ostaszewski, but his club KPR has already been awarded a
EC show. Then we have Zbigniew of KPR again with 490.33 points. I am able to
award the European Championship show status to the next on the list, Michal
Siranec of SZCH (487.33 points).

The 2017 Short Tail winner is Torsten Rickert of CAGD with 503.67 points. The
third award is therefore confirmed for CAGD.

The other two European Championship shows must be given to those associations
that have not organised a European Championship Show for the longest time

Other clubs that have applied are GGC (Italy), BGC (Bulgaria), GBE (Belgium), and
UKFG (UK). Selected from these, are the other two clubs that are awarded the
European Championship Show status on the basis that they have not had a European
Championship show for the longest time. GBE (Belgium - last EC show 5th May 2016)
is the first confirmation. BGC is the final selection (Bulgaria last EC show was
10th June 2017) The other two club’s dates are GGC Italy 15th / 18th June 2017
and FGUK 7th / 8th October 2017.

Congratulations to all clubs.

7th July 2018 CADG (Germany)
