It seems that we are encountering problems with some of the European Championship shows. As IKGH President I will send several messages to remind everyone of the rules for organizing the European Championships shows so that future shows are aware of and have no reason to depart from their agreed responsibilities and requirements.
3 212 Supplement 4
9a 1 In Europe championship shows, there must be an international observer to oversee the compliance to the IHS rules.
2 Only an IKGH registered judge can be international observer.
3 The minimum requirements for a show (in accordance with 1.2a for EC Shows) must be supervised by the International Observer, and the conformation report must be signed by the International Observer and given to the Show Manager.
4 Receipt of this form is then acknowledged by the Show Manager and sent to the IKGH President.
I seldom receive reports from International Observers so I wonder why they are employed and why they do not do as they are required by their appointment !
International observers should NOT be employed on a friendship basis. They are there to represent the President and the IKGH membership to check that the show complies with the rules. It is a form of cheating if the International Observer makes his report on a friendship basis and also if they do not submit their report to the President. An international Observer should be truthful in their report.
A show organiser can learn improvements from the International Observer so that their show can be better next time.
