I have had several messages asking for the results of the voting for the proposals at the Congress in Slovakia.
Now I am ready to send out the results to everyone.
I thank everyone who contributed with votes and also those who attended.
The meeting was opened with an introduction from myself, the current IKGH President - my two year committment to be President ends this year. No volunteers have made themselves known and there were no proposals for anyone except for the only responses who proposed that I myself continued. I have agreed to commit to another two years as President.
The IKGH standards were fixed by the previous president after agreement from all and it is that standard for which we are making changes and amendements. It is my job to publish the latest version before each show season. This will again be done, but in the near future I will send out the new version with all amendements completed in blue script. This will enable those with translations to update their own versions easier and sooner.
Postal votes had been received and collated. They were included in the meeting voting only if the proposal was unchanged from the original. If the proposal was amended then the postal vote could not reasonably be considered. I can report that most (but not all) of the postal votes were the same as the meeting votes. The general trend was the same.
In some cases a positive result occured with votes but the rules remain unchanged because there was not a 2/3 majority in favour of the proposal.
I would comment that the meetings that I have attended in the past seemed to have very few resulting changes to the IKGH Standards. In comparison this meeting had a very high proportion of proposals agreed.
Most of the changes can be introduced into next years competition, some like the dates for shows and the re numbering system for the standards can only be reasonably implimented in 2020.
Finally there were several proposals to organise a second meeting. This is mostly for judges training and the IHS (such as judging female guppies). I formally invite everyone to attend. Please let me know if you are interested in these discussions. When I know who will come we can make arrangements for when and where, to accomodate as many as possible. These conferences will agree and produce proposals that will then be presented to the membership for voting.
